KABACAN, Cotabato—The Bangsamoro Development Agency-Central Mindanao (BDA-CenMin) conducted Muslim Blood Donation (MBD) at Barangay Kayaga (BK), Kabacan, North Cotabato on November 28, 2015, but unfortunately majority of the interested donors were not qualified.
Rosdith Buntag, BDA-CenMin Assistant Regional Coordinator said, “We were surprised that the result of the MBD we conducted at Kayaga, majority of the interested donors did not qualify”.
“The main reason for this was due to reasons cited by the doctors in charge,” Buntag clarified.
“Some of these were high blood pressure, hemoglobin problem, under weight and other grounds not disclosed to public by the doctors in charge,” Buntag disclosed.
“But the doctors assured that those reasons they did not disclosed to public can easily be medicated if given proper attention,” added Buntag.
With this, Fatima Kadil, BDA Provincial Development Catalyst (PDC) in North Cotabato said, “We are expecting that those individuals that were not qualified shall qualify in the next round of MBD”.
“I know that they are committed and I am sure that they will find ways to become healthy to help save life of those who are in need of blood,” assured Kadil.
Out of 50 interested individuals in the recent MBD in Kayaga, only 23 qualified as donors.
The MBD was founded and organized by BDA-CenMin with Dr. Rizaldy Piang as main proponent, together with other Moro Medical Practitioners.
