Kabacan, North Cotabato – The Grand Mufti of Bangsamoro, the Eminence Sheikh Abuhuraira O. Abdulrahman graced the commemoration of the Al Muslimin Alpha Phi, Inc. (AMAPI) 47th Founding Anniversary at Felra Suites, National Highway, Tacurong City, on November 7, 2015 as guest of honor and resource speaker of the occasion.
Turn-over ceremony and induction of newly elected officers were the other highlights of the program. Maguindanao Governor Esmail “Toto” M. Mangudadatu,the sponsor of the event was not able to attend due to pressing schedule.
Moro Political figures present were former ARMM Assemblyman Datu Pike Mentang; former Maguindanao Vice Governor and now Mayor of Guindulongan, Maguindanao Datu Midpantao “Antao” Midtimbang; former ARMM Assemblyman Datu Abdulkarim Langkuno and his wife, Paglat Mayor Bai Julaika Pendatun-Langkuno; former Maguindanao Provincial Board Member, Datu Yasser Ampatuan; and former ARMM Assemblyman Datu Norudin Mamaluba.
Key officials of government line agencies who also attended were Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) 12 Director, Sultan Tungko Saikol; Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), Davao City Consul General Datu Mohammad Taha Guinomla; and Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) senior officials Datu Haron Nul and Datu Shariman Malaguiok.
Retired ranking officials in the gathering were the AMAPI founder Datumblah Sabpa from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) 12; former Schools Division Superintendent, Sultan Sabandiya Balabagan; Retired Police General Datu Akmad Mamalinta; Police lieutenant Wales Kasuyo; former ARMM Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) secretary, Datu Haron Bandila; and former Post Office senior official, Datu Norodin Sapal.
Many other professionals both retired and on active duty also joined the celebrations.
Mamaluba welcomed the audience. Mayor Midtimbang gave a message touching on the background of the organization. He advised the members on how to act better. He said, the Bangsamoro needs a truly good leader or leaders. General Mamalinta gave another message expounding on good governance. He summarily described ‘good governance’ as fairness.
Bandila on the other hand, recalled the grueling moments in the past. He narrated the creation of the AMAPI as a vehicle for survival.
Guest speaker Abdulrahman delved on brotherhood. “We are all brothers not only in the AMAPI but by virtue of verses in the Noble Qur’an. He described the Bangsamoro today as ‘sick’, thus needing diagnosed. Once a misdiagnosed is committed and inappropriate medical prescription is given, it will aggravate the sickness. What we need in the present is helping one another. But this is impeded by jealousy caused by mostly wealth and positions”, Mufti Abdulrahman stressed.
Outgoing Secretary-General Saidali Litigan turned-over the responsibility to the in-coming Secretary-General Tungko Saikol.
